Welcome to Administrative Services for the Long Beach Community College District. We are here to serve our students, faculty, staff, vendors and community while supporting the District's mission and goals.
Administrative Services is accountable for overseeing the business, construction, financial, and safety activities of the college. It encompasses the departments of
Academic Computing and Information Technologies,
Facilities,
Fiscal Services,
Internal Auditor, and
Risk Services.
We are responsible for: development and maintenance of the annual operating budget; safety and security of our students, employees, guests and facilities; procuring goods and services; overseeing the bond and construction projects and maintaining all the District's facilities, mechanical equipment and grounds; providing information and multi-media technologies to our employees and students; paying vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, payroll and employee health benefits; recording all transactions in the general ledger; monitoring compliance with Federal, State and District guidelines; reprographic and mail services; transportation; and overseeing environmental health and safety issues while ensuring that the District is appropriately insured.
The Budget Advisory Committee, the Facilities Advisory Committee, and the
Citizen's Oversight Committee fall under the auspices of Administrative Services as well. The Budget Advisory Committee and the Facilities Advisory Committee are both participative governance committees stemming from the campus' College Planning Committee. The Citizen's Oversight Committee is formed under the guidelines of Proposition 39 and contains members of the community with oversight responsibility of the District's general obligation bond funds.
